As part of a larger contract for Virgin Trains, Lockit-safe have just completed the renovation of an old store room into a secure cycle parking facility accommodating 58 bikes.
The project included the rip out of the existing store room, new walls to create a changing room area, 20 kit lockers and the installation of 58 two tier cycle racks with LED lighting and an access control system. The job was then finished off with decoration in the Virgin Trains colours.
The new secure and weather-proof cycle parking facility was part of Virgin Train’s station regeneration programme and their aim of encouraging more sustainable travel to their stations.
The project was completed in just 7 weeks and is the first station in a series of station improvements where Lockit-safe will be creating better cycle parking facilities at stations including Newark Northgate, Peterborough, Durham, Berwick upon Tweed and Grantham.
