Scooter and Cycle parking for schools in East and South Ayrshire
In 2015 Lockit-safe won the framework contract for the Ayrshire Road Alliance which is a public sector partnership delivering Council road and transportation services to communities across East and South Ayrshire.
The second part of this framework agreement is the supply and installation of cycle and scooter parking to 14 schools across the area.
THE SOLUTION
There were seven schools in East Ayrshire providing 210 scooter parking spaces using our Wave Scooter Rack and 70 cycle parking spaces with Hamble Cycle Compounds with mesh grill. The compounds and the Scooter racks were galvanised and powder coated in colours to match the school colours.
Across South Ayrshire a further seven schools all received the lockable Hamble cycle compounds providing 70 secure cycle parking spaces.
The project included groundworks and installation of cycle and scooter parking facilities and with a short timescale and the need for the least impact on the day-to-day school life, work was carried out across weekends and school holidays to complete the project.
