Dawnus Construction were awarded the contract for the design and construction of the first new build secondary school in Wokingham for over 60 years.
The state of the art building featured distinctive timber cladding and landscaped courtyards, external classrooms, fantastic sporting facilities and creative spaces.
Dawnus Construction contracted Lockit-safe to design, manufacture and install cycle parking facilities that were sympathetic to the design of the school and environment.
Our solution was to create a number of cycle parking compounds which all feature wood cladding to the sides and rear with a simple metal mesh front, polycarbonate roof and toast rack bike racks inside. The compounds are set on a concrete base within a block paved, landscaped area.
This same design was used for:
- Four 4m 40 cycle compounds (4m x 10m)
- One 60 cycle compound (3.9m x 15m)
- Two 96 cycle compounds (4.8m x 20m)
These bike compounds give the school secure cycle parking spaces for 412 bikes.
