Lockit-safe recently completed its fourth project with Gwynedd Council, delivering custom-designed cycle and scooter storage at Ysgol Dolbadarn in Llanberis, North Wales. The school required robust, secure, and visually sympathetic shelters to encourage active travel among pupils and reduce car use for the school run.

The project included a wood-clad cycle shelter with lockable gates and an open scooter shelter with PETG cladding, providing safe and practical storage for up to 10 bikes and 20 scooters.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

Ysgol Dolbadarn is located in a scenic area, so the new shelters needed to blend with the natural surroundings while offering modern security features. Lockit-safe addressed this with a timber-clad cycle shelter, combining aesthetic appeal with functional performance. The inclusion of lockable gates ensured additional protection for bikes during school hours and outside of term time.

The PETG-clad scooter shelter provides quick, visible access, ideal for younger children. The open structure also enables staff to monitor usage easily, ensuring safety and usability at all times.
