INTRODUCTION

Lockit-safe supported Walsall Council in the latest phase of its school active travel programme by delivering cycle and scooter parking facilities at two primary schools in the borough.

This smaller-scale project follows an earlier rollout to 11 schools, continuing the Council’s commitment to promoting healthier, greener journeys to school for pupils across Walsall.

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES

While this project was modest in size, each school had its own space limitations and access considerations. Lockit-safe carried out site-specific planning to position shelters and racks where they would be safe, accessible, and effective in encouraging use by pupils.

Works were delivered with minimal disruption during term time and included the installation of hardstanding groundwork where required.
