Creating a bespoke canopy for the EDF Energy Hartlepool Power Station Visitor Centre
EDF Energy has a number of purpose built visitor centres across the UK including one at Hartlepool nuclear power station. The visitor centre explores how electricity is created in a fun and interactive way and includes a classroom for school visits.
Lockit-safe were asked to design, build and install a bespoke canopy for the front of the building to improve the look of the entrance and also provide some weather protection for visitors.
THE SOLUTION
We designed a 1.8m x 2.4m canopy which was installed into concrete pockets.
A multi-wall roof and glass infill panels provided additional weather protection.
The galvanised steel structure was then polyester powder coated to provide protection to the structure and an attractive finish.
