Providing 430 cycle parking spaces across 11 rail stations
Investment into sustainable travel is a priority for rail companies across the UK. Lockit-Safe work with a number of these and have completed one of our largest rail projects, providing 430 cycle parking spaces across 11 stations in the South of England.
THE SOLUTION
The 11 stations all had distinct needs as to the cycle parking requirements, but also the space and facilities available. This is where our breadth of options came into play and also the fact that we design, manufacture and install, so can provide bespoke solutions for our clients.
As many of the stations had existing cycle parking facilities that were inadequate, we removed these and recycled and reinstalled at other stations without cycle parking provision as part of another contract. We then installed a mixture of simple Sheffield stands and two tier bike racks and cycle compounds.
Some of the stations required cycle hubs so our two tier bike racks were ideal and were used with secure compounds and access control systems.
All 11 stations were completed in a couple of months.
