The first stage was to clear the land and to install a new concrete base and fencing to the area. Lockit-safe designed a secure bike compound with mesh sides, for visibility. security lighting and a Paxton access control system.
The compound was fitted with 10 sheffield stands and two tier bike racks providing cycle parking facilities for 40 bikes in total.
Part of the cycle hub was a permanent bike repair stand and bike pump to help cyclist to deal with minor problems with their bikes such as flat tyres. The cycle compound also included clear signage and graphics to encourage usage.
