130 cycle secure cycle spaces installed at Loughborough Station
Loughborough Station had existing cycle parking facilities which consisted of a cycle shelter with Sheffield stands. As part of a contract with Bowmer Kirkland main contractors, Lockit-safe were asked to upgrade this cycle parking facility and turn it into a secure, paid for service for passengers.
THE SOLUTION
As is often the case with rail projects, there were challenges to the site access and the need to minimal disruption for passengers using the station. Lockit-safe undertook groundworks and installation of a bespoke cycle compound that provided 130 cycle parking spaces for rail passengers.
To ensure the maximum number of spaces for the available area, two tier bikeĀ racks were used inside the compound. The facility is secure and there is a minimal subscription charge for passengers to access and use the cycle compound.
