As part of a project to encourage children to cycle to school, The Royal Borough of Greenwich Council appointed Lockit-safe for a contract to provide cycle and scooter parking at 8 schools in the borough.
The project included a mixture of cycle and scooter parking including;
- Shelters
- Compounds
- Scooter racks
The works included groundworks and installing concrete pockets and bases.
Installation during Lockdown
The project ran into the UK lockdown period. All products and been manufactured and were ready to install when all on-site activity at the school had to stop.
We were able to store the products and then when lockdown restrictions were eased, we modified our working practices in order to allow the safe working on-site of our teams.
We had transport challenges getting the product to London and getting supples such as skips and hire equipment, but our teams put in a brilliant effort and we were able to complete installation in May 2020.
