In 2014 Lockit-safe were awarded a £250,000 contract to supply and install SMART technology cycle lockers for Nexus and Tyne and Wear City Council at Metro stations throughout the area.

Unlike ordinary cycle lockers, these are fitted with SMART technology which Lockit-safe has developed, that allows individually monitored access for users.

The first two installations have just gone in to Regent Centre and Callerton Park with the total project covering 10 station sites and over 50 SMART cycle lockers.

Before the first lockers were even installed the client had ordered additional units!
