Lockit-safe to Begin Cycle Infrastructure Upgrades Across Northern Trains Network

Lockit-safe is set to begin a significant cycle infrastructure project with Northern Trains, due to start at the end of February. The project will see our teams working across 11 stations, delivering upgraded cycle parking and improved access for passengers travelling with bikes.

IMPROVING ACCESS TO RAIL TRAVEL

The works will be carried out over a four-week period, with our in-house teams handling all aspects of supply, groundwork, and installation. The project includes:

  • Installation of Sheffield Stands and Toast Racks

  • Cycle shelters fitted with durable steel cladding for long-term weather protection

  • Cycle access ramps to assist with movement over steps and bridges

  • Groundworks including full concrete bases and concrete pockets, depending on site requirements

Once complete, the upgraded infrastructure will accommodate a total of 130 cycles, offering secure and accessible facilities for passengers across the network.

FULLY MANAGED DELIVERY

All 11 stations have undergone the Landlord’s Consent process, which was handled directly by Lockit-safe, ensuring a smooth and compliant route to installation. This project continues Lockit-safe’s long-standing expertise in delivering high-quality, future-ready cycle parking for the transport sector.

We’re proud to be supporting Northern Trains in encouraging more sustainable, multi-modal travel across their network.
